✏️ Anyone that has access to edit workspace and a Contentful account with add permissions

Connect your visual storytelling with your content workflow. The Air integration for Contentful allows editors and creators to browse, select, and embed media directly into entries without toggling between platforms or downloading files locally.

Follow these steps to choose and attach an asset from Air to a Contentful entry:

  1. Go to the Content tab in your Contentful workspace.

  2. Click Add entry and select the content type configured with your Air integration.

  3. Locate the configured JSON object field and click + Add asset to launch the Air asset picker.

  4. If prompted, sign in using your Air account credentials or organization single sign-on.

  5. Browse or search for the media file you want to use, then select it to populate the field. For tips on locating media quickly, see our guide on Searching for your content.

📝 Quick note on asset metadata 📝

When syncing asset metadata between Air and Contentful via the API, field data is returned in standard JSON payloads. If your developers need to expose and map asset name and type:

  • The asset name is accessible via the coverVersion.fileName property.

  • The type value identifies whether the item is an Asset (visual media) or a File (non-visual document).

Once your asset is embedded, finish drafting your Contentful entry and publish as normal. If you also use other CMS platforms, explore how to connect them with Air x Sanity or Air for WordPress.
