Overview
The Slack integration pushes Air notifications to a selected Slack channel, allowing users to follow workspace activities better and promoting collaboration. In addition, users can preview Air content or link directly to an Air board or asset from the notification message.
Air for Slack helps teams stay connected and informed with real-time notifications about board activity. Turn on board notifications for Slack right from your Air workspace. Changes made to that board, like comments, uploads, and project statuses, will automatically sync with Slack and notify followers of that board.
With Air for Slack, important updates are visible immediately - eliminating unnecessary back-and-forth or toggling between applications.
Ready to turn on Slack notifications? Here’s how to get started:
Navigate to the board in Air that you would like to receive notifications about.
Select Connect to Slack from the ellipses menu next to the board name
Authenticate your Slack workspace and select an existing Slack channel to push updates to:
Once the integration is configured, all board notifications will be sent to the selected Slack channel. You can follow as many boards as you like in one channel, or split them up for task delegation.
Please note: sub-boards within a Slack-configured board will need their own configuration to receive notifications in a Slack channel.
You can access the Slack connection in the Edit modal of the board, where you can disconnect the channel:

Connect to Slack
From a board in Air, choose to connect that board with a Slack channel.
Authenticate the Slack workspace and choose a Slack channel.
Once the integration is configured, all board notifications will be sent to the selected Slack channel.
Disconnect Slack
From a board configured with the Slack integration, a user can see that the board is integrated with a Slack channel and can choose to disconnect the integration.
From Slack's app management page, a user can view any integration(s) and choose to disconnect.
Note: Only one Slack workspace can be connected to an Air workspace at a time. You are able to disconnect the Slack workspace in your Slack workspace settings.
What and How Activities Are Notified
A notification will be sent from all users on the workspace (including the user who created the channel) if there is:
New asset(s) uploaded
New sub-board created
New comment added
Custom field changes on an asset
Custom field changes on a board
Users can preview Air content from any message sent via the integration in a Slack channel.

From a Slack channel, a user can link directly to an Air board or asset from the notification message. Note: Only one Slack workspace can be connected to an Air workspace at a time. You are able to disconnect the Slack workspace in your Slack workspace settings.
Common Q&A
I connected my board to a Slack channel but I am still not receiving notifications about sub-boards. Why?
A connection does not automatically apply to sub-boards within a board. The connection has to be done for each board.
