Who can upgrade a workspace to a paid subscription?

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Supported on any free Air plan

✏️ Anyone with admin access to the workspace

Free, Starter, Business, and Enterprise plans

This section covers self-serve upgrades you can complete from the Current Plan tab in workspace settings. The pricing and plan actions shown in the upgrade modal depend on your workspace’s current plan and eligibility. The modal presents current plan pricing through monthly credits and feature access, and storage on current plans is governed by credit usage rather than a fixed included storage amount. Current paid plans are not billed per seat and include unlimited workspace users and board users, and changing user access levels does not add a separate charge. If the plan or billing option you want is available there, you can make the change directly in your workspace.

  1. Navigate to the Current Plan tab under your workspace settings

  2. Click on Upgrade Plan

  3. In the Find your new plan modal, review the available plan cards for Free, Starter, Business, and Enterprise.

  4. When available, use the Annual and Monthly toggle to choose your billing cadence

  5. Review the pricing, included monthly credits, and feature highlights. The modal reflects Air’s credit-based pricing, and credits cover usage based on your selected plan.

  6. Select Get Started for the plan you want.

  7. Enter your payment info and confirm payment method

  8. Click on Upgrade

You can only complete self-serve plan changes when the option you want appears in the Current Plan tab. If your desired plan, billing cadence, or legacy arrangement does not appear in workspace settings, contact Air support or sales for help with the change, including if you need to move from a legacy plan to a current paid plan to use unlimited workspace users and board users.

Your upgrade takes effect immediately. Self-serve plans do not include free trials, and payment is required at signup. If you are working with Air on an Enterprise plan, your workspace may be in a managed trial period before purchase. The payment method you enter becomes the default for the account, and future invoices are charged automatically unless on self-serve plans.

How charges work for self-serve upgrades

Self-serve upgrades to a paid plan take effect right away, and payment is collected at signup. Paid plans include a monthly credit balance that refreshes on the monthly anniversary of plan purchase. Credits do not roll over between billing cycles. A first invoice or renewal total can be higher than the base plan price when it includes both the standard subscription amount and prorated adjustments from a mid-cycle change.

When a workspace moves to a new credit-based plan, credits cover storage, AI enrichment, and AI generation based on the plan you select. On current paid plans, pricing is not per seat, so adding workspace users or board users and changing access levels does not create a separate user charge. If you do not see the billing option you need in workspace settings, contact Air for help. You can confirm your ongoing recurring rate after prorated adjustments settle by reviewing a later renewal invoice or the standard pricing shown in Current Plan.

Changing billing cadence

When your workspace is eligible for a self-serve billing cadence change, you can choose between Annual and Monthly from the toggle in the upgrade modal. If you do not see that toggle or the billing option you need in the Current Plan tab, contact Air for help.

Enterprise + custom plans

Enterprise plans, custom plans, and any plan changes that are not shown in the Current Plan tab are handled directly with Air. Support-assisted changes are expected whenever the option you need does not appear in workspace settings. If you need a plan option that does not appear in workspace settings, contact our team to review the right setup.
