If I move or delete a file or folder on Air Flow, what happens to it on my workspace?

Learn how moving, renaming, or deleting files and folders in Air Flow affects synced content in your workspace, and how Selective Sync can exclude boards or libraries from syncing

Written by Tyler Strand

The boards or assets in a workspace are also moved, renamed, or deleted after Air Flow successfully syncs the corresponding changes made in your file manager (Finder on macOS or the Air Flow file browser on Windows (beta)). For example, moving a synced file to Finder Trash is treated as a delete action and removes the asset from your Air workspace after sync.

When any user with the Air Flow app takes these steps, the changes appear for every workspace user and visitor after Air Flow successfully syncs. To prevent changes in your local environment from syncing, use the Selective Sync feature to exclude a set of boards and/or libraries from sync altogether.

If your goal is only to clear local storage, use Air Flow’s sync and offline controls to choose what appears on your device. Finder Trash removes the synced item from Air after sync.
