Inviting library members

Learn how to manually invite workspace users to libraries and assign their default library roles

Who can invite a library member?

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Supported on enterprise Air plan

✏️ Anyone that has access to view workspace can invite any user to a library that anyone can join

👤 Anyone that is a library owner or library admin can invite any user to associated library

In SAML-managed Enterprise workspaces, library access can be provisioned through IdP group mappings and controlled by the IdP mapping instead. Removing a user from a mapped IdP group can remove their library membership, even if they are the library's only owner.

From workspace email invite

  1. Invite the user to your workspace by email.

  2. In the Add to libraries modal, select one or more libraries to add the user to.

  3. Select Invite to send the workspace invite and add the user to the selected libraries.

The invited user is added to each selected library with that library’s default role. You can edit their library role later from the library’s member settings.

From workspace sidebar

  1. Hover over the library name to show the ⠇edit menu

  2. Select the ⠇edit menu

  3. Select Invite members

  4. Under Invite members, activate the member list to drop down a list of users that can be invited to library

  5. Select user(s) to invite

  6. Review / modify library member access level

  7. Select blue 'Invite # users' button

From library view

  1. Select the Edit menu in the header next to the library name

  2. Select Invite members

  3. Under Invite members, activate the member list to drop down a list of users that can be invited to library

  4. Select user(s) to invite

  5. Review / modify library member access level

  6. Select blue 'Invite # users' button
