βοΈ Anyone with edit access to the workspace can use basic editing tools. Generative AI features are available on Basic, Business, and Enterprise plans.
Edit, polish, and prep your assets right where they live. Airβs new image editing functions allow you to make quick changes to still images directly within your workspace, streamlining your creative workflow without needing external tools.
This guide will walk you through Air's powerful new editing capabilities.
From asset details
Open any still image asset from your workspace and you'll find a pencil icon in the bottom center for Edit Mode. Click to get access to the edit features Air has available. Once in Edit Mode, you'll see a panel of tools on the right side of your screen.
Crop
Use the crop tool to reframe your image. You can choose from a list of specific presets (like 1:1 Square or 16:9 Widescreen) or drag the handles to create a custom crop.
Flip and Rotate
Transform your image's orientation. You can rotate it in 90-degree increments, flip it horizontally or vertically, or use the slider for full rotation control.
Erase Elements (AI Feature)
For users on Basic, Business, or Enterprise plans, this generative AI tool allows you to remove unwanted objects from your image. Simply select the brush, highlight the element you want to remove, and Air will intelligently erase it.
Remove Background (AI Feature)
This powerful AI feature, also available for Basic, Business, and Enterprise plans, automatically detects and removes the background from your image. After removal, you can set a new solid background color and toggle a drop shadow on or off for a clean, professional look.
Saving Your Edits
After you've finished making changes, you have several flexible options for saving or exporting your work:
Save as new asset: This creates a brand new, separate asset in your workspace with the edits applied. The original image remains untouched.
Save as a new version: This adds your edited image as a new version on top of the original, creating a version stack. This is a great way to keep iterations organized. Learn more about managing version stacks.
Download: If you need the edited image for immediate use and don't need to save it to your workspace, you can download it directly to your machine. This option allows for quick, temporary edits without cluttering your boards.
If you decide not to keep your changes, simply click 'Cancel' and then 'Discard change' to exit the editor without saving.
