If you’re syncing a large amount of content and keep getting errors, start by updating Air Flow and then work through the in-app error-resolution steps from least to most disruptive.

⏫ Update Air Flow (v4.1.40 or later)

Update to Air Flow v4.1.40 or later to use the updated error-resolution flow and Force Resync improvements. To check for updates, select the Air icon in your menu bar, select the gear icon, then select Check for updates.

🧑‍🔧 Use the error-resolution steps (progressively)

In Air Flow, open Status. If you see that sync has stopped, try these options in order:

  1. Retry: Wait a few minutes, then retry the sync.

  2. Replace <item/folder> from cloud: Replace the local version of the affected item/folder with what’s stored in the cloud.

  3. Replace local workspace: Reset conflicts across your local workspace from the cloud and start fresh.

  4. Force resync everything: Delete local workspace data and replace it with what’s in the cloud. This can be a more thorough alternative to reinstalling Air Flow in some cases.

Important: Before you use any replace or force resync option, back up anything that hasn’t been synced yet.

⚖️ Stabilize your connection

If you’re on a network known for dropouts, switch to a wired ethernet connection. You can also pause other bandwidth-heavy activities (like streaming or large downloads) while sync completes.

🔻 Use smaller batches

If errors persist, split very large syncs into smaller groups of files and retry.
