Get Started with Canvas

Canvases are easy to work with and a powerhouse tool for scaling your creative work. As you're getting started, here a few tips:

  • Be specific, but you don't need to be technical: Requests like "Make this square" work just fine. So do "1080x1080 for Instagram."

  • You don't need to describe every step: Just explain what you want the end result to be. Air will determine the workflow needed to achieve it.

  • If something is unclear, Air will ask: If more information is needed (like which logo to use or what size you want), Air will prompt you.

Understand image sources

Air Canvas works with images from three places and preserves what's already there unless you tell it otherwise. So if you ask Air to "make this brighter," it will not accidentally change the text or move the logo. Only the element you request will be modified.:

Images already on your canvas

Images already on your canvas appear as thumbnail references when you're chatting with Air. You can click to select them, or reference them directly by saying "this image" or "the poster on the left."

Air will understand which image you mean and apply the requested change.

Uploaded images

You can drag and drop images directly into the chat, or upload them through the interface. Once uploaded, Air can begin working with them immediately.

URLs

You can paste a direct image URL (like https://example.com/photo.jpg) and Air will load it from there.

⏲️ Time-saving tip! ⏲️

If an image is already on your canvas or uploaded in your conversation, you don't need to re-upload it. Air Canvas already has access to it.

Work with any images ... or part of an image

Air works with all common image formats:

  • JPEG, PNG, WebP — standard formats that work everywhere

  • GIF — animations supported

  • TIFF, AVIF, SVG — Air can read these formats and convert them if needed

When Air delivers final images back to you, they'll typically be:

  • PNG (for quality and transparency support)

  • JPEG (for photos without transparency)

If you need to work with a specific area or object, you can describe it.

Give these sample prompts a try:

  • "Remove the person on the right"

  • "Crop out just the top section"

  • "Find the barcode and extract that area"

Air can analyze images to locate specific objects when needed.

Refer to specific images on Canvas Agent to make edits

When you have one image: Just say "this image" or describe what you want done. Here are some example phrases to use in your prompts:

  • "Resize this to 1080x1080"

  • "Remove the background"

  • "Make this brighter"

When you have multiple images: Be specific about which one you're referring to. Here are some example phrases to try out in your prompts::

  • "Crop the one on the left"

  • "Remove the background from the product photo"

  • "Use the first image as the base and overlay the logo from the second one"

You can also click to select specific images before making your request.

Work with your brand assets

Air can store and use your brand assets — logos, fonts, and colors — so you don't have to hunt them down every time.

Logos

If your team has set up a Brand Kit, you can reference logos by name.

Examples:

  • "Add the white logo to the top right"

  • "Use the dark logo on this image"

⏲️ Time-saving tip! ⏲️

Start building your brand from anywhere! If you ask for a logo that isn't in the Brand Kit, Air will search your workspace and show options to choose from. Once you pick the right one, Air will use it. If you have permission, it can also be saved to the Brand Kit for next time.

Fonts

The same approach for adding in images to your canvas also works for fonts.

Give these sample prompts a try:

  • "Add the headline in our brand font"

  • "Use Montserrat Bold for the title"

If the specific font isn't in your Brand Kit yet, Air can help locate it or allow you to upload it.

Colors

When brand colors are saved to your brand kit, simply reference them by name.

Give these sample prompts a try:

  • "Use the primary brand color for the background"

  • "Make this match our accent color"

You can also give hex codes directly:

  • "Change the background to #FF6B35"

⏲️ Time-saving tip! ⏲️

Not sure what's in your Brand Kit? Ask the Agent to use a branded asset. If it exists, the Agent will use it. If not, the Agent can help locate it and set it up.
