Context is Air's brand memory layer for Canvas. A workspace can contain multiple context sources, each storing the information Air's AI uses to generate and edit content, such as colors, fonts, logos, reference images, and custom instructions. Use separate context sources to organize different brands, campaigns, channels, or audiences.

Think of each context source as the AI's memory for a specific brand or initiative. Use context sources when you want AI-generated content created in Canvas, including images, edits, and variations, to reflect the right brand details without re-entering them every time.

If brand details change, you can refresh a context source from a URL to keep reusable brand information current for Canvas prompts and edits. You can also ask the agent in Canvas to create or regenerate brand information from a website URL. Refreshing or generating a context source from a URL updates the information Canvas uses, including logos, fonts, colors, reference images, and instructions.

You can access Context from the main sidebar by clicking Context. This opens the Context index, which lists every context source in the workspace. Toggle between Gallery and Table views, then sort the list by Last updated, Name, or Date created. Your view and sort preferences are stored locally for your user account on the same device, so they stay in place when you reload.

Workspace users with the appropriate permissions can select New context in the header to create a context source.

Context sources can represent different brands, campaigns, channels, or audiences.

Each context source card or row includes an actions menu. From this menu, you can select View context source, Add field, or Delete context.

After you open a specific context source from the index, you can add a new field in two ways: click the actions menu (the three dots icon) in the Context Source header and select Add field, or click the blue Add field button in the body of the page.

Workspace users with the admin permissions can also reorder fields. Hover over a field header, then drag the handle to move the field into a new position.

Once a field is created, you can manage it from the field's settings menu (the three dots icon). From there, you can edit instructions, rename the field, or delete it. You can also toggle the visibility of the label, instruction, and value subfields for each item, and add more items by clicking Add value in the field footer. When you want to rebuild or update reusable Context information used by Canvas, use the field or source actions menu to regenerate from a URL.

In the New field modal, define the field you want to add to your Context Source:

The color field lets you add specific brand colors to your Context Source. You can enter a hex value, add a label, and include AI instructions for how the color should be used.

Other field types work similarly. For instance, you can create a 'File' field (e.g., for Logos). When adding a file, you can easily drag and drop a file downloaded to your computer, or grab it from Air Flow if you use that integration. You can also assign a label and additional AI instructions to the file.

Download an image or file value, such as a logo, from the Action menu. Font and color values cannot be downloaded from Context sources. For detailed Context source setup and file-management instructions, see Setting up context sources.

Similarly, you can create 'Text' fields to add specific text values and instructions as needed.

When adding a font to Context Source, you can choose from a library of built-in fonts. After you choose a font, use the adjacent dropdown to select a specific variant, such as Thin, Light, or Bold Italic.

If you have a custom brand font on your computer, switch to the Upload font tab. From there, you can drag and drop .ttf or .otf files, then add labels, instructions, and variants for each uploaded font.
