Testing how an ad creative or product asset appears in real-world placements shouldn't wait for final production. With Air Canvas Skills, you can instantly turn your core campaign assets into stunning, photorealistic Out-of-Home (OOH) mockup concepts. This workflow is designed to help you quickly validate ideas, align stakeholders, and pitch concepts before handing them off to designers or production partners.
Apply this workflow to bring your campaign assets to life in real-world environments:
Prepare your canvas
Choose a strong source asset from your board and bring it into your workspace.
Place the asset on the canvas
Position the selected asset directly onto the OOH Canvas so the AI agent can reference it.
Find the right Skill
Open the Canvas agent and locate the built-in Out of Home Mock skill. You can find Skills through the Canvas agent slash-command picker or by reviewing the Skills area in the left sidebar.
Run the /ooh-mock Skill
Initiate the skill using the default settings to quickly generate three photorealistic starting concepts: a cityscape billboard, a digital billboard, and a bus side placement OR refine your concepts by adding specific context to your prompt. For example, you can request specific environments like subway station ad placement, top of a taxi, bus shelter to see how your asset looks in different urban settings.
Arrange the completed results
Once the generation completes, the default results will be neatly arranged on your canvas.
Save your mockups back to your workspace
Select your preferred mockups and save them to a board in your workspace for easy sharing with your team and external partners.
Best practices for high-impact mockups
To get the most out of your OOH mockup generations, keep these strategic tips in mind:
Select clean source assets: For the best results, use high-resolution, clean product or ad imagery. If your asset has a busy background, consider using background removal tools first to isolate your subject (see Scale campaign creative in Canvas).
Name environments clearly: When customizing your prompts, be specific about the real-world settings you want to see, such as "subway station ad placement" or "bus shelter."
Compare multiple passes side-by-side: Run multiple passes with different prompts to explore various creative directions, then curate them on your canvas for easy comparison.
Reuse successful prompts: Canvas agent history retains the prompts used in that Canvas. Reopen the agent chat to copy successful prompt language or save them as custom Skills for your team (see Get Started with Canvas).
