By default, Air presents your content library in the most visual way we know how: Gallery View. However, when it's time to get creative work done, Kanban view allows your team to visually manage their workflows and enables your workspace to truly become a creative operations tool.

Kanban view allows you and your team to work with content in an easily structured, well-organized format. Single-select fields like edit status, usage rights, or project assignee are all displayed front and center for quick and easy handoffs.

Here's how it works

Creating a Kanban view

To start using Kanban view, navigate to any board and change the view from Gallery or Table to Kanban. The columns in Kanban view correspond to the values of a single-select custom field in your workspace. If you don't have a single-select custom field, then a workspace admin will need to create one first (remember, only admins can create custom fields).

Choosing a grouping

If your workspace has more than one single-select custom field, you can switch which field your Kanban view uses by clicking on the "Group by" menu in the board's content header bar.

Drag and Drop

You can drag an item between columns, which will modify the custom field value applied to the item. These modifications are saved automatically as soon as you drop an item in a column. Assets in Kanban view are custom sorted, so you can also drag to re-arrange items within a column.

Kanban columns themselves can also be rearranged by dragging and dropping them into the preferred order.

The "No Status" column

If an asset has no assigned value in the custom field that was used to create the Kanban view, that asset will appear in the uncategorized/"none" column, which is always the leftmost column. As with the other record cards, if a card is dragged from the uncategorized column onto another column, the value of the single select field will change to reflect the new column. If a categorized card is dropped into the uncategorized column, then the value in the single select field will be cleared.

โ€‹Kanban on Share Links

Kanban view is also available on Share Links. You can save your board's view to be Kanban by default, or public Share Link URL visitors can find Kanban themselves by toggling the view from Gallery or Table to Kanban.
