πŸš€ Saving sort on a board view

If you change the sort on a board and select 'Save view', that saved sort applies to that board and its corresponding public URL or share link. It does not set a default sort for the whole workspace or for new boards in general.

Sometimes you're looking for the newly added content, sometimes you need to see recently updated boards, and sometimes you just want to see your stuff ordered alphabetically. Air's sort functionality allows you to view your content in whatever order makes sense for you and your team.

From board and workspace view

You can sort your content in any board or workspace view. Sort order can be toggled between ascending and descending. On boards, saved views can be updated and saved on a per-board basis. Workspace-level views and Search all files do not use that same saved-sort pattern. New boards start with date modified in descending order until that board's saved view is changed. Each view has its own set of sort options available:

Additional Sort Behaviors

Default

The default sort on a new board is date modified (descending). This is the starting sort for a newly created board until that board's saved view is changed.

Date modified reflects changes to the asset itself, such as uploading a new version, removing a version, or renaming the asset. It should not be treated as a record of every action taken in Air, so you should not assume every change in a board or workspace updates this timestamp.

Custom Sort

Create a custom sort by dragging and dropping items into the order you prefer. In the Table and Kanban views, you can also customize the order of fields between columns and assets within a column.

Save View

After adjusting sort settings, if you wish to return to that setup later, save the view on the board. The saved sort will apply to that board and its visitors, including through its corresponding public URL or share link. Items in the 'Search all files' view are always sorted by date modified by default and that option cannot be saved. Search all files is a workspace-wide search view and does not save sort the same way a board saved view does.
