Who can add content to Air?
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Supported on any Air plan
βοΈ Anyone that has edit access to a workspace, library, or board
β¬οΈ Anyone that is a user of Air's content collection form
When working with Air, you have two main options for adding assets to your workspace: uploads and imports. In this article, we'll explain the differences between these two options and provide step-by-step instructions on how to add content to your workspace.

Methods for Uploading Content
There are several ways to upload content to your Air workspace. Let's explore each method:
Add Button - File Upload
The Add button allows you to upload content from your computer. Here's how you can use the Add button to upload individual files:
Select the Add button in the top right of any workspace view
Select File Upload
Choose the files you want to upload from your hard drive
Confirm the location (board, library, or All assets & files) where you want to upload the content
Select Upload
Add Button - Folder Upload
The Add button allows you to upload content from your computer. Here's how you can use the Add button to upload folders and folder structures:
Select the Add button in the top right of any workspace view
Select Folder Upload
Choose the folder you want to upload from your hard drive
Confirm the location (board, library, or All assets & files) where you want to upload the content
Select Upload
Drag and Drop
Air's workspace supports a convenient drag-and-drop option. Simply drag a file or folder from your desktop or hard drive and drop it into your workspace. Follow these steps to use drag and drop:
Open the folder from your local drive containing the file or folder you want to upload.
Select, click and hold the files and/or folders.
Drag selection to the desired location in your workspace.
Release the selection as prompted.
Confirm the location (board, library, or All assets & files) where you want to upload the content
Select Upload
Content Collection
With Air's Content Collection feature, collaborators outside of your workspace can directly add files to your boards. You can create a unique link and share it with others to upload assets. Here's how to use Content Collection:
Select files
From any live content collect form, choose 'Upload items'
Choose the files you want to upload from your local drive
βApply a description or custom field values to uploaded assets
Add content to destination workspace by selecting 'Submit items' and confirming submission
Drag and Drop
Open the folder from your local drive containing the file or folder you want to upload
Select, click and hold the files and/or folders
While holding, drag selection to the form's window
Release the selection as prompted when a green + symbol appears
Apply a description or custom field values to uploaded assets and select Submit items
Add content to destination board by selecting 'Submit items' and confirming submission
From existing workspace
When you copy content between workspaces, tags, custom field values, and comments do not transfer. Copied content does not stay linked to the source workspace. If AI enrichment is enabled in the destination workspace, it is generated there for the copied content.
Workspaces and their libraries are separate spaces for storing content. You can copy an existing board and its assets into another Air workspace without re-uploading files. This workflow creates a copy in the destination workspace and does not move or remove the originals from the source workspace.
Navigate to the board you wish to copy.
Under the Share button drop-down menu, select 'Share a link'
Ensure "Allow downloads" is enabled. Versions of assets will transfer to the new workspace by enabling the "Include versions" toggle.
From 'Link' tab, navigate to the "..." menu next to the generated URL and select "Preview link."
Select 'Save to Air workspace' from the "Save to..." drop-down menu in the top right of the preview link.
From the Select workspace modal, choose the destination workspace from the dropdown. Note: This list only shows workspaces associated with the Air account you're currently signed in to, so a workspace under a separate login will not appear unless that same account has access to it. Logout of Air and log back in with an account for the destination workspace to view and select the one you want to save to.
Select 'Save.'
β²οΈ Time-saving tip! β²οΈ
If your source content is a large amount of storage or loosely organized, copy content in smaller batches instead of trying to copy an entire board in one action. Moving board by board or in smaller groups is more reliable and less likely to timeout.
Air Flow for Mac
Air Flow is a powerful desktop app that enables two-way syncing between Finder and Air. It provides local access to your Air content within Finder, making it convenient for creatives who work with editing software and creative suites. To use Air Flow for uploading to your Air workspace:
β
Sync vs. download for offline use. Syncing your workspace makes all boards and files visible in Finder as preview icons, but files remain online-only until you download them. By default, items download only when opened. You can choose specific boards or assets to make available offline; syncing alone does not take up disk space.
Open the folder from your local drive containing the file or folder you want to upload.
Select, click and hold the files and/or folders
Drag selection to the desired location in Finder
Release the selection in that location
Air Flow for Windows (Beta)
Air Flow for Windows is a desktop app that enables two-way syncing between File Explorer and Air. It provides local access to your Air content within File Explorer.
β
Sync vs. download for offline use. Syncing your workspace makes all boards and files within boards visible in File Explorer, but files remain online-only until you download them. By default, items download only when opened. You can choose specific boards or assets to make available offline; syncing alone does not take up disk space.
