Uploading videos or photos from iPhone to a Air does not work

If you're using an iPhone to upload media to Air and the upload appears to hang or fail—especially with larger video files—you may be experiencing a known behavior with Apple’s photo picker.

This can look like a bug, but it’s usually related to how iOS handles media loading in the background before uploads begin.

🤧 Common symptoms

  • Tapping “Add” or “Upload” does nothing

  • No error message appears, but your file doesn’t upload

  • You don’t see the usual splash screen that appears during a normal upload

  • The issue only happens with large files, and smaller files upload without issue

🤨 Why this happens

This behavior is caused by the way Apple’s file picker works on mobile devices. When selecting a large video or photo from your iPhone’s media library:

  • The file may still be loading in the background

  • The upload button stays active, even though the file isn't ready

  • There’s little to no visual indicator that loading is still in progress

💊 What you can try

  • Wait a few seconds after selecting your file before tapping “Upload” or “Add,” especially for large videos

  • Try uploading a smaller file first to confirm uploading to Air is working as expected

  • Reload the page in a new browser tab if something looks off or if the screen doesn’t load correctly

  • Try uploading from a desktop device if the issue persists on mobile

Still having trouble? If waiting doesn’t help and you’re still unable to upload, reach out to Air's support team using the messenger below or email us at help@air.inc with the following:

  • A screen recording showing what happens

  • The URL to the page you’re trying to upload to

  • The device and iOS version you’re using

We're happy to help you get back on track!
