Systems like Google Drive, Dropbox and Box require that every file you store be tied to one location. On Air, the opposite is true. You can store one 3 MB file and have it appear in many locations on your workspace. An initial import of content to Air using one of our integrations may surface duplicated files and assets, taking up storage in your workspace.
Air’s standard duplicate detection is not workspace-wide. It depends on the exact board or path where files are uploaded. Folder-based imports or uploads can create separate board or sub-board paths, so duplicate files in different paths may not be caught automatically.
If you import the same cloud-storage folder into the same board again, Air skips duplicate files already added to that board. If you import the same content into a different board or destination, Air adds those assets to that destination so they can appear where you need them.
If you are noticing duplicates across several boards and they all share the same file name, you can search for it by name from 'Search all files' and surface all instances of it seamlessly. Add the file you want to keep to any of the boards it should be associated with on Air. This will then allow you take bulk actions such as tagging the file you want to keep, applying relevant custom fields, or multi-selecting the files you no longer need so that you can delete them.
