Users with workspace roles have access across your Air workspace, while users without a workspace role only have access to the specific boards they’ve been invited to. Workspace roles apply at the workspace level and include permission levels such as Admin, Editor, and Commenter. Users without a workspace role are board-only users, and their access is set separately on each board, such as Editor, Commenter, or Viewer.
Depending on your workspace’s plan terms, active users, board-only users, pending workspace invitations, and pending board invitations can affect whether more invitations can be sent.
Current paid plans include unlimited workspace and board users without separate per-user charges. Legacy plans and custom or Enterprise contracts may use different user-limit or billing terms, so check your plan details if you’re unsure how users are counted.
Available workspace and board roles also depend on the workspace plan. Role pickers only show roles included for that workspace, so options like Commenter or Viewer may not appear on every plan.
On Enterprise plans, a workspace can include a Workspace Owner role. On non-Enterprise plans, Admin is the highest relevant workspace access level.
Role changes depend on permission level, so a user can only change access for roles at or below their own.
