Who can use the Asset Detail Screen?

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Supported on any Air plan

✏️ Anyone with view access to an asset in a workspace

Get up close and personal with your creative work. The Asset Detail Screen is your focused view for reviewing, managing, and collaborating on any individual asset in your Air workspace. We've designed it to be fast, intuitive, and packed with powerful tools to streamline your workflow.

When you click on an asset, the detail screen opens to a clean, organized layout. The asset itself is front and center, with navigation controls at the top and specialized toolbars for interaction. On the right, you'll find two tabs for all the context you need: Details and Comments.

Navigate between assets

Move seamlessly through the assets in your board or library view without ever leaving the screen. Use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard or click the arrows in the top toolbar to go to the next or previous asset.

Arrow navigation works when you open an asset from Gallery, Table, or Kanban views. Kanban

πŸ’¬ Comments

Switch to the Comments tab to see feedback, leave new comments, and start discussions with your team. To learn all about commenting, check out our guide to exploring comments.

Annotation tools make giving precise visual feedback easy. When you click into the comment field, annotation mode is automatically activated.

  • πŸ“ Single-point: Simply click anywhere on the asset to drop a numbered pin. Each new point in the same comment gets a new number.

  • πŸ”³ Rectangle: Click and drag to draw a box around a specific area. You can resize or move the rectangle after creating it.

  • 〰️ Scribble: Free-draw to get your message across.

You can mix and match annotation types in a single comment to provide comprehensive feedback. Each comment's annotations are assigned a random color to keep discussions clear and distinct.

View and interact with assets

The asset viewer adapts to the type of file you're looking at, providing you with the most relevant tools for the job.

Global viewer controls

These tools are available for most asset types:

  • πŸ”Ž Search (AI feature): Click the search icon to search through detected text (OCR) or audio and video transcripts. You can also view detected faces and start a new search.

  • πŸ“Ί Presentation Mode: Go full-screen and hide the interface for a distraction-free review. The title and toolbar will reappear when you hover near the top or bottom of the screen.

  • β˜€οΈ / ☾ Dark/Light Toggle: Change the background behind the asset to be light or dark. This is perfect for checking images with transparency and is independent of your main Air interface theme.

  • βš™οΈ Settings: This menu adapts to show settings specific to the asset type you are viewing

  • ⬇️ Download: Click the Download button to open a menu of options to Capture Frame. For images, you can export with custom dimensions. For videos, use the menu to export the current frame (PNG), set the video thumbnail used for previews in boards and the workspace, or save a frame to the current board.

Image view

  • 🏎️ Zoom Controls: Use the zoom slider to get a closer look. A tooltip will show the exact zoom percentage. Air loads the original, high-resolution file as you zoom to ensure you're seeing every detail.

  • βš™οΈ Settings: The settings menu for images includes an option to "Show image transparency."

Video view

  • πŸ“š Chapters & Transcripts (AI feature): If your video has chapters or a transcript, you can open them in a side panel for easy reference while you watch.

  • πŸ–ΌοΈ Capture frame and thumbnail: In the video player, open the Download menu to export the current frame as a PNG or set the video thumbnail used for previews across boards and your workspace. The exported frame matches the playhead position.

  • βš™οΈ Settings: The settings menu for videos includes options for playback Speed and Loop.

PDF + document view

  • πŸ”„ Toolbar Controls: The top toolbar includes pagination to easily navigate through pages.

  • πŸ—ƒοΈ Sidebar Toggle: You can open the document's native sidebar to view thumbnails or an outline.

  • βš™οΈ Settings: When viewing a PDF, use "Show Original" to display the source file instead of the optimized preview. Use this if you notice artifacts such as missing vectors, fuzzy text, or color/gradient changes.

Versions

Selecting the versions icon expands a left panel that lists the current version and older versions.

Versions are displayed in a clean, vertical tray that stays open as you navigate between them. This makes comparing revisions a breeze. When you are viewing an older version, the version number (e.g., V2) will be highlighted to remind you that it's not the latest. For more details, see our guide on managing version stacks.

From mobile web

The asset detail screen is fully responsive, providing a streamlined experience on your mobile device.

  • πŸš™ Navigation: Use the arrow buttons to navigate.

  • πŸ‘€ Asset Viewing: The mobile viewer focuses on core functionality. Images have zoom controls, while videos have play/pause and volume. Chapters and transcripts are not available on mobile at this time.

  • πŸ“œ Details and Comments: Asset details and comments appear in a scrollable view below the asset. To use annotations and timestamp commenting, switch to Air's web app.

  • ⬇️ Downloading Images: When downloading an image, you'll have the option to save it to your device's Files or view in browser to activate options to save to your Camera Roll/Photos or other platform.
