What metadata is included when I 'Save to Workspace' from a public link?

Learn how metadata behaves when saving assets to another workspace, including which AI-generated data is recreated and which metadata does not transfer

When you use Save to Workspace, Air copies assets into another workspace without re-uploading the files. The asset files transfer, but some workspace-specific metadata is recreated or does not carry over. Here is what to expect when saving content from a public link.

AI Enrichment

AI enrichment (such as Smart Tags, Smart Summaries, and video transcriptions) is workspace-specific. This means AI data from the source workspace is not copied over as-is.

If the destination workspace has Air's AI Features enabled, Air will generate new enrichment for the copied assets. This ensures the data is fresh and configured according to the new workspace's settings.

  • Processing begins shortly after the save is complete.

  • This applies even if the asset already had AI enrichment in the source workspace; it will be regenerated in the destination.

  • If you include versions in your save, enrichment applies to each relevant asset version.

Manual metadata

Other manual metadata does not copy to the destination workspace. The following items are not transferred:

  • Manual tags

  • Custom field values

  • Comments

Once your assets are saved and enriched, you can verify the data. Learn more about viewing metadata to see your new tags and summaries in action.
