Building a workspace structure from scratch can feel like staring at a blank canvas. Board templates let you skip the setup and get straight to the creative work. Whether you need a proven industry standard or a custom structure tailored to your specific niche, Air’s board templates help you organize instantly.

Accessing board templates

  1. Hover over any board in your Air workspace and click the (three-dot) edit menu icon

  2. Select Board templates from the dropdown menu to open the assistant

Using preset templates

For common industries using Air, get started with pre-built templates designed for specific teams.

  1. In the board creation assistant, ensure the Templates tab is selected

  2. Click on different categories like Agency, Retail, or E-Commerce to preview their suggested board structures

  3. Review the included sub-boards and naming conventions to see if they fit your workflow

  4. Select the template that fits your needs to apply it to your board

Generating structures with AI

If your business is unique and you want a more customized board structure, you can use AI to generate a custom board hierarchy based on your specific description.

  1. Navigate to the Generate tab in the board creation assistant

  2. In the text box, describe your organizational needs or workflow
Example: "I am a photography agency that photographs and videos birds for clients. I need a board structure to organize my assets."

  3. Click Generate Structure. The AI will process your request and display a proposed hierarchy

  4. Review the suggested sub-boards.

    1. If the AI result wasn't what you expected, select Try Again to delete the template created and modify your prompt.

    2. When you are satisfied with the structure, click Create Boards

  5. Once the confirmation appears, click Go to [Your Selected Board] to see the automatic board structure!

Once you have applied a template or AI structure, you can refine it to fit your team perfectly.

  • Customize names: Edit the names of generated sub-boards to match your team's internal taxonomy.

  • Add context: Combine your new structure with Custom Fields and Saved Filters to track workflow stages.

  • Manage permissions: Review and adjust permissions for the new boards to ensure the right team members have access.
