Who can view the Air workspace sidebar?

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Supported on any Air plan

✏️ Anyone who has view access to a workspace, library, or board

The workspace sidebar on Air allows you to quickly access and organize your assets and boards. This article will guide you through the different options available in the sidebar and how to best utilize them.

Workspace title

The workspace title contains a drop down menu with quick access to:

  • View your workspace member count

  • Invite members to your workspace

  • Navigate to settings and see your workspace members

  • Join or create a workspace

πŸ”” In-app notifications

Gain quick access to see activity relevant to you within your Air workspace.

βͺ / ⏩ Collapse / Expand

The sidebar doesn't have to be visible for your entire session. Use the βͺ icon to collapse the sidebar. Use the ⏩ icon to expand the sidebar. The sidebar size is also customizable to each workspace viewer based on your preference

Workspace Views

Viewing content across your entire workspace allows you to quickly access and organize your assets outside of the board structure. Work with workspace views to quickly navigate to boards and find the exact file you need, eliminating the need to step into and endless nest of boards.

πŸ“š All assets and files

Use this section to speedily navigate to a flatlay of your full workspace. Every single asset and file as it is stored in your workspace outside of the context of any board. Search and filter your content without the endless nested boards in your way. You can also search and jump to any board just by searching its title.

⬆️ Recently added

This section displays any asset or file that has been added to the workspace by anyone within the past 30 days. This is a useful feature to help you stay up-to-date on the latest additions to your workspace.

πŸŽ›οΈ Saved filters

This section displays any assets or files that qualify for the custom saved filters default to your Air workspace or built by your internal team. This feature allows you to avoid applying the same filters repeatedly, and quickly access desired assets or files.

πŸ•“ My uploads

This section displays any asset or file that you have uploaded to the workspace. This feature is especially helpful for locating files that you have personally added to the workspace.

βš™οΈ Settings & members

Use this shortcut to easily navigate to your workspace settings. Quickly locate and modify:

  • Name & logo

  • Members & guests

  • Custom fields

  • Tags

  • Subscription plan details

  • Current & past invoices

  • Security & identity settings

β ‡ More

⭐️ Favorites

This section displays any asset or file that you have favorited (starred) in the workspace. This feature allows you to quickly access specific items that you need on a daily basis.

πŸ“ˆ Recently modified

The Recently Modified section displays any asset or file in the workspace that has been modified by anyone on Air within the past month. This feature is useful for keeping track of any recent changes made to your workspace.

πŸ“‘ Unused items

The Unused Items section displays any asset or file that is not currently assigned to a board. This feature is useful for identifying any potential unused assets that could be repurposed for upcoming marketing events.

Boards / Libraries

Depending on your account type, you'll see midway along your workspace sidebar 'Boards' or 'Libraries' (Enterprise only) header. The views within are manually built by your workspace admins + editors.

Should you prefer to navigate the workspace outside of the construct of boards and only view your workspace views, you're able to collapse the items in view.

Boards

Use the edit menu (three dots) for the 'Boards' header to sort the boards in view (Admins only):

  • Custom sort (drag and drop in your preferred order)

  • A to Z

  • Z to A

  • Newest

  • Oldest

The '+' icons next to the 'Boards' header or visible when hovering over any board title allows users to create new boards for the workspace.

Each board in view on the workspace sidebar also contains an edit menu (three dots) when you hover over its name with your cursor. This gives easy access to:

  • Share a link

  • Favorite

  • Download

  • Open in Finder (Air Flow users only; Mac only)

  • Move

  • Add a sub-board

  • Rename

  • Duplicate

  • Connect to Slack

  • Delete from workspace

Libraries

Use the edit menu (three dots) for any Library to modify library settings. Depending on your access level to the library in view, you can also:

  • Invite members

  • Leave library

  • Delete library

βž• New board

Use this button for quick access to create a board from the bottom of the sidebar.
