Get Started on Air as a Board Editor

Get started as an Air Board Editor. Learn how to upload, tag, comment, and collaborate on boards.

Written by Lauren Ford

Welcome to Air! If you have been added as an Editor to a specific board, you are in the right place. As a Board Editor, you have full creative control within your designated project board, allowing you to collaborate seamlessly with your team without worrying about workspace-wide settings.

This role is designed for external collaborators, agency partners, and contractors who need to actively work on content within a defined project. Here is everything you need to know to get up and running.

What you can do

Within your assigned board, you have full edit permissions to manage and collaborate on assets. Here is what you can do:

  • Upload and add new content: Easily bring your assets into Air by dragging and dropping files. For more details, see our guide on adding content.

  • Organize and manage clips: Arrange and structure files within your board to keep your project organized.

  • Tag clips and fill in custom fields: Apply tags and input metadata values to help your team search and filter assets. Learn more about working with tags and how to explore custom fields.

  • Comment and annotate: Leave clear, visual feedback directly on assets. You can use annotations to highlight specific areas of an image or use timestamp commenting for video feedback.

  • Download assets: Save assets directly to your device. For more information, see downloading content.

  • Share content: If permitted by the workspace administrator, you can generate share links for individual assets or the entire board. See sharing your workspace content for details.

  • Delete content: Remove assets and files within your assigned board when they are no longer needed.

What you can't do

To keep workspace settings and other project boards secure, your access is strictly limited to the specific board you were invited to. Here is what you cannot do:

  • Access other boards: You cannot view or access other boards in the workspace unless you are explicitly invited to them.

  • Access workspace settings: You do not have access to billing, plan details, or workspace-level user management.

  • Create custom field types: While you can edit custom field values on assets, only workspace Admins can create or delete custom field types.
